On December 16th, Momenta's middleware OBF-CM (Open Basic Software Framework Communication Management), hereinafter referred to as CM, was awarded the ISO 26262 ASIL D functional safety product certification by TÜV Rheinland Germany, an internationally renowned testing and certification organization. Momenta has now become the first full stack intelligent driving solution provider in China to obtain the highest level of functional safety product certification from TÜV Rheinland for this specific functionality. The certification fully demonstrates that Momenta, as a global leader in intelligent driving, not only possesses a process system that meets functional safety requirements but has also developed the highest level ASIL D software products and can meet the most stringent safety level inspections by international certification bodies.
With its 150-year history, Germany's TÜV Rheinland pioneered automotive certification programs as early as 1904. ISO 26262 is globally recognized as a stringent and authoritative standard for automotive functional safety, with ASIL D representing its highest safety level. Achieving such a high-level certification requires testing under various platforms for different operating environments, application scenarios, and fault conditions to ensure that every line of software code and each function is thoroughly vetted. The certified CM product is a core module of Momenta’s unified basic software framework for intelligent driving systems, the OBF, responsible for providing distributed communication services to all intelligent driving software and supporting various communication functions including intra-process, inter-process, chip-to-chip, and cross-domain communications. CM products are capable of passing the ASIL D level certification, demonstrating that Momenta has a complete and international standard-compliant safety analysis, design, development and testing capability. The R&D team has strong safety awareness and proficiency in system software development, enabling the full implementation of Momenta's vision of "ten years, saving millions of lives".
Currently, OBF has a full stack of self-developed base software, middleware products, and supporting toolchains, supporting multiple hardware platforms, which have been deployed on dozens of mass production vehicle models. In the future, Momenta will continue to cooperate deeply with TÜV Rheinland Germany to certify the functional safety of OBF's execution management, status management, health management and other software, continuously improve the quality of OBF products, and quickly move towards the goal of achieving the highest functional safety in full stack development. Furthermore, OBF promotes open collaboration with automakers to co-develop and create professional and safe basic intelligent driving software.
