Beijing, April 26, 2024 — Momenta, a leading autonomous driving technology company, announced an advanced autonomous driving (AD) solution based on the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-a-chip (SoC). The solution offers full-scenario urban navigation assistance and advanced AD features at optimized bills of material (BOM) costs without relying on high-definition maps, achieving “Navigation Pilot Everywhere.”
The solution released by Momenta is powered by NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, encompassing all advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) functions, and supporting advanced AD features such as Highway Navigation Pilot (HNP), Urban Navigation Pilot (UNP), Learned Parking Navigation Pilot (LPNP), and Parking Navigation Pilot (PNP).
The system integrates an 11V1R1L (11 cameras, 1 radar, 1 LiDAR) sensor configuration that keeps hardware system BOM costs more manageable, helping make advanced AD features a standard configuration for mainstream vehicle models. Models equipped with this solution are expected to enter mass production and hit the market later this year, offering a highly competitive combination of performance and cost.
NVIDIA DRIVE Orin is an ideal choice for mainstream automakers due to its exceptional performance in ADAS and AD solutions. The SoC offers strong algorithm scalability, shortens development cycles, and supports automakers’ mass-production vehicle roadmaps.
Momenta has extensive experience in mass production with NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, along with a mature toolchain system and chip adaptation process. Momenta is the first provider globally to deliver urban navigation assistance functionalities based on a single NVIDIA DRIVE Orin in mass production. In the new solution launched today, Momenta has also integrated China’s first mass-produced, end-to-end, large-scale foundation models for autonomous driving, which combine perception and planning to improve the continuity and performance potential of AD products.
Xudong Cao, CEO of Momenta, said, “We look to continue working with NVIDIA, a pioneer in this area, to develop industry-leading intelligent driving products, promoting the advancement and popularization of autonomous driving and providing users safe and enjoyable autonomous driving experiences.”
Tong Liu, Vice President of Automotive and Head of China Auto Business at NVIDIA, said, “Momenta is bringing together its strength in advancing software algorithms through data-driven approaches with NVIDIA’s cutting-edge technology and expertise to achieve full-stack, end-to-end autonomous driving capabilities — helping accelerate the development of the transportation industry.”
Momenta will continue to work closely with industry partners to bring autonomous driving technology to more mass-produced vehicles. The company’s aim is to provide safer, more comfortable, and more efficient autonomous driving solutions, enabling more people to benefit from this groundbreaking technology.
